How much time to you spend thinking about the power of God within you to accomplish whatever you are led by God to do? People in this world, dream about making a mark in the world. Christians are hopefully dreaming about making a mark in accomplishing His will and purpose for their lives. If you haven't figured it out, most people, and most likely you, fall short of the determination and will power to accomplish things God has put in your heart to do.
This would be true for the most spiritual desire and goal, to the development of Christlike character, to the desire of doing good and charitable works for others, to the most simple but desired mark of being organized, or losing weight, or getting in shape, or strengthening your skills? Most people don't spend time thinking about the power of God within them to help them. Most people spend time thinking about the drive they lack to make desired changes. Too often, frustration replaces the incredible life God has for you.
Some people would laugh at that. “The incredible life God has for me, yea right!” “My life couldn’t be more ordinary and meaningless.” “My life couldn’t be more aimless and mundane.” “My life couldn’t be more out of control with me feeling powerless to change it.” If you think any of these things, I understand why. I've been there. But I knew that if I caved into that kind of thinking and defeat, it would be a waste of the life God prepared for me and the plan He desires for me to walk in.
Psalm 139:14-18 (NLT) “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up in the morning, you are still with me!“
Still think you were meant to be ordinary and powerless? Continue reading.
“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
Just by understanding God’s love for you and how He has felt about you from the beginning and what He has wanted for you begins to increase your faith and strength! Can you feel it? That strength and God-given power by its nature will draw you to Him. That is what it was designed to do as we see in Jeremiah 29:13-14. “If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me. I will be found by you," says the Lord. "I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes..."
You see - when you find out what God wants for you – what He intended for you – and that He is not out to condemn you but to strengthen you to live this life empowered by Him to become a world changer, your life begins to take new shape. Strength from God comes to your life. Continue seeking God that He may give you His desires and lead you, and that ask in faith for Him to strengthen you! It is the same Spirit (God's Spirit) that raised Christ from the dead that lives within you! Have faith in Him and draw on it!
Ephesians 3:16 (NLT) "I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit"
